Although none of the Bachchan family members extended birthday wishes to Aishwarya Rai on her birthday in November, the former Miss World continued her tradition of wishing her husband, Abhishek Bachchan, on his birthday, which falls on February 5. The couple has been under the media spotlight amid ongoing rumours of a divorce, yet they continue to appear together at various public events, such as their daughter Aaradhya’s school annual day.

Aishwarya took to Instagram to share a childhood photograph of Abhishek, wishing him on his special day. She wrote, “Here’s wishing you Happy Birthday with happiness, good health, love and light God Bless,” though she notably refrained from tagging him in the post.
Abhishek and Aishwarya tied the knot on April 20, 2007, in a private ceremony at one of Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalows, Prateeksha. They have appeared together in films like Guru, Dhoom 2, and more. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Aaradhya, on November 16, 2011.
Reports of marital discord have been circulating for some time. Alleged rumours surrounding Abhishek’s closeness to his Dasvi co-star, Nimrat Kaur, combined with complex family dynamics involving Shweta and Jaya Bachchan, are thought to be contributing factors. In July 2024, Aishwarya attended Anant Ambani’s wedding alone with Aaradhya, while the Bachchan family was seen together in full force.

Abhishek was recently seen in I Want to Talk, directed by Shoojit Sircar, which was released on November 22. The film, where Abhishek stars alongside Ahilya Bamroo, Jayant Kriplani, Johny Lever, Pearle Dey, and Kristin Goddard, is now available for streaming on Prime Video.
Meanwhile, Aishwarya’s last appearance was in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2, for which she received the Best Actress in a Leading Role (Critics) award at the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) held in Dubai.
